From the highway to the end of the track
The HX-2+ is Hema's dedicated 4WD and touring navigator. It gives you turn-by-turn guidance on sealed roads and track guidance once the bitumen ends, all on Hema's own 3D Explorer Map. The maps live on the device, so it keeps working where your phone has no signal.
Hema Maps has been mapping Australia since 1983. Its Map Patrol team drives the tracks to field-check the mapping, and Hema has mapped more than 700,000 km of tracks and 550,000 km of unsealed roads. The HX-2+ puts that mapping on your dash.
Hema Nav
One unit for road and track
Hema Nav runs on-road and off-road navigation from the same map. On the highway you get customisable turn-by-turn voice guidance using road data from HERE Technologies. When you turn onto a track, it switches to Hema's off-road track guidance.

Build your own adventure
Record where you have been, drop waypoints at campsites and good spots, and edit your tracks later. Everything is saved in My Data folders on the unit, and tracks export as GPX files to share or load into other mapping tools.

Ready to go out of the box
The 177 mm IPS screen is bright and easy to read, and the 5-point capacitive touch works like a phone. Multi-GNSS support (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and QZSS) helps hold a fix in gorges and under tree cover. It comes with a windscreen mount and a 12/24 V car charger, so it runs off the vehicle all day.

Frequently asked questions
Does it work without phone reception?
Yes. The maps are stored on the unit, so navigation, track guidance and offline search all work with no mobile signal. Wi-Fi is only needed for extras such as live traffic, online search and downloading map and software updates.
Is there a subscription?
Hema Nav comes pre-loaded and includes three years of quarterly map updates. The optional 4WD Maps app, which gives you digital copies of Hema's printed maps and other publishers' maps, needs a separate subscription.
How long does the battery last?
The internal 850 mAh battery runs the unit for up to 2 hours, depending on settings. It is designed to run from the vehicle, and the 12/24 V car charger is in the box.
Can I add a reversing camera?
Yes. Hema lists the HX-2+ Wireless Rear Camera as an optional accessory for this navigator. If you are unsure what suits your vehicle, contact our team.
What warranty does it have?
